About
Our road began as a group of community members came together to work towards the common goal of making our communities and homes safe for everyone. Our road quickly branched out, as we realized that there were many roads (ways) to end violence! And that is how “Roads to End Violence” came to be! The roads we travel often have twists and turns but our focus remains on the destination: to find ways to reduce and end all types of Violence.
Violence happens in every community and it happens all too often. Statistics show that women, children and vulnerable populations are experiencing violence at alarming rates. Violence affects everyone and is a social issue that is rooted in equality. Through our presentations, workshops and resources, REV works to enlighten and educate community groups, schools, individuals, young and older, and employers on the effects /types of violence and violence prevention. REV is able to provide these services through the support of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Violence Prevention Initiative. By creating an awareness of these issues throughout the area REV works to lobby and influence policies and legislation relating to Violence in Newfoundland and Labrador.
REV provides these services throughout the Gander New Wes Valley Area. This area spans from Lewisporte to Charlottown and all places in between.
